Buying a ticket for your NJ Transit bus at Port Authority Bus Terminal can be super simple with a couple of taps on the MyTix® - NJ Transit app!

Plan your journey, purchase, and use passes and tickets, as well as accessing real-time updates for buses and train hassle-free on the app.

☝️ Getting Started

1. Download the App: Get the MyTix® - NJ Transit app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

2. Create an Account: Set up a MyTix® account using your email, password, and zip code.

3. Adding a Payment Method: Add a credit/debit card, or use Apple Pay, Google Pay, or PayPal. Alternatively, use the cash-to-mobile feature to add value to your My Transit Wallet at participating retail locations.

💸 Buying Tickets

1. Selection: From the NJT APP home screen, tap 'Buy Tickets', then tap 'Bus'.

2. Route/Bus Selection: Choose your route by selecting your bus number.

3. Destination/Zone Selection: Select your travel destination as "To/From New York" and then choose your zone based on your destination.

4. Ticket Selection: Select the type of ticket you want.

5. Payment: Select your payment type from various methods like Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, MyTransit Wallet, credit card, and confirm the purchase to get your ticket.

No need to rush, one-way and round-trip mobile tickets remain valid indefinitely until activated, offering flexibility to your travel schedule!

Tickets are valid in either direction and post-purchase, a receipt is sent to your email for record-keeping​​.

🎫 Using Your Tickets

1. My Tickets: Navigate to the 'My Tickets' tab from the NJT APP.

2. Ticket Activation: Find your ticket and tap 'Activate'. Make sure to activate right before boarding as it remains active only for a certain duration!

3. Ticket Display: Show the activated ticket to the bus driver upon entering.
